North West Province and The One Foundation: Establishing a Public-Private Partnership Model

Proteus Advisory is collaborating with The One Foundation to establish an innovative public-private partnership (PPP) model in the North West Province. This project is designed to leverage both public and private resources to significantly improve educational outcomes in the region.

The Challenge

The North West Province struggles with under-resourced schools, weak governance, and subsequently poor learner outcomes. Traditional interventions have had limited success, and there is a pressing need for a new approach that combines the strengths of both the public and private sectors.

What We Did

Proteus Advisory developed a strategic framework for a PPP model that aims to enhance educational infrastructure and outcomes. This model is designed to be scalable and sustainable, ensuring long-term improvements in the North West Province’s education system.

  • Co-created a sustainable impact strategy focused on education.
  • Conducted a sectoral analysis to inform the partnership framework.
  • Developed and finalized a service level agreement (SLA) for the partnership.
  • Established a Project Management Office (PMO) to oversee implementation.
  • Recruited and coordinated with operating partners and service providers.

What Next?

Proteus Advisory will continue to manage and scale the PPP model, ensuring its success and sustainability. We will focus on monitoring outcomes, refining strategies, and expanding the model to benefit more schools across the North West Province.
